To those of you who do not know , I have been a great fan of personal development, selfhelp or what ever you like to call it, for over 15 years. Jim Rohn was one of my favourite mentors.I have so many books and tapes that I think I helped to contribute towards his wealth :o). Every penny I ever spent on his masterpieces was worth it. If you haven't already, read Leading An Inspired Life, an extraordinary special book, then I would highly recommend to do so :o). I will be reviewing it shortly on my blog, so please keep coming back for the updates.
I was lucky to meet him personally. I was one of thousands in an auditorium, who had come to see him. Jim had a way of presenting, that I have always found amazing. He always presented with humour and it always seemed as if he was talking to you personally.
He talked fondly of what he called the "girl scout story". It was the day he claimed changed his life.
A girl knocked on his door with the best sales presentation he had ever heard asking for money in exchange for cookies. He stated he lied, claiming he still had plenty in the house that had not been eaten. The truth was, he didn't have the $2 for the cookies. Jim was 21 with a young family with bills and debts up to his eye balls. He had enough. He found a good mentor and that mentor taught him principles that changed his life and way of thinking forever. Jim then applied those prinicples and not only created financial wealth for both himself and family, but he created worldwide wealth for others in terms of leadership, and sharing his knowledge which has changed peoples lives forever. Jim's legacy will always continue. His words will continue to touch the lives of others.
